The apocryphal curse “May you live in interesting times,” seems to have taken on a sinister tone nowadays. Challenges seldom seen in the world, and never in America, are arising almost daily. There are but two rational fears unique to our time and both are existential; nuclear holocaust and ecocide.
Here, however, I shall try to revive your faith in the best of humanness. You may learn that your fears are not new, humanity has faced most of them several times and has told us about their experiences. I hope you will find the entries interesting and thought provoking as I have. For many of these thoughts I owe a great debt to my dear friend Felix Nesci, author of ‘Spacebook, A Bible For Space’.
